St John Henry Newman College is the vision of a group of faithful Catholic families from Brisbane. Independent and co-educational, Newman College offers a faithfully Catholic and Classical education for families across the greater Brisbane area.

The school commenced with its initial intake of Years Prep to Three in January 2026 and will become a full P-12 school with separate Primary and Secondary campuses in the years ahead. 

Our primary school has been established at the old St John Fisher church site on Pozieres Road in Tarragindi, which was first earmarked for a primary school in the 1960s. With first stage of works completed in 2025, and the second stage taking place throughout 2026, we have a vision for a traditional and beautiful campus that reflects both our identity as a classical school and our own unique Australian heritage.

For many reasons, our plan is for Newman College to always be a relatively small school. We know just how important a close knit community is for a school's culture, and this is why we will establish our secondary school campus on a separate site in the years ahead. We want Newman College to be a school where families know each other by name.

A classical education is about so much more than the content children are learning, and it should be reflected in the built and natural environment that surrounds them for so many hours a week! We hope to preserve as much green space as we can, with beautiful landscaping and gardens.
